Nine Months

Grant is growing so much every day and is as delightful as ever. He is enjoying laughing, new words "Hi Geh-Geh" (his name for Charlotte), "boon" (balloon), "bah" (when pointing to a ball), cat (the "t" is sooo faint but he still says it when looking at any cat), and "cup" in reference to his FAVORITE thing ever - drinking water from a straw. He hasn't done a full on crawl yet, but he is rocking on all fours and starting to pull up and he loves to stand and walk with hands held. He also is on a baby food strike (except baby yogurt) and is loving feeding himself all kinds of table foods - Ritz crackers, pizza, french fries or any potato and meat ranking at the top of his list. We're so proud of our smart and adorable little man!

At his 9 month check-up he measured in at a light 17.1 lbs (10th percentile) and 28" long. His head was in the 90th percentile, so we've deduced that he has a very large brain. Dr. R ensures us everything will even out down the road, but for now we couldn't be more in love with our little bobble head!

For fun I thought I would post a pic of Charlotte at this same age...

Charlotte's 9 month stats: 18.11 lbs (50th percentile), 29 inches long (90th percentile)

So fun! I think they resemble one another maybe a little, no? 10 month pictures will be taken this week, stay tuned!

Garden Tea Party

I was delighted to throw Charlotte an all girl, prim and proper tea party for her fourth birthday. I had been dreaming up this party for some time and could not be happier with how everything turned out for my little lady. My sister Kim graciously offered her beautiful photography studio for the locale and she also took the most divine pictures of every sweet detail. Major thanks as well to my dear friend Marilyn of Whatever Whimsy for the amazing cake and desserts.

Here are some of my favorites!

4

Our sweet baby girl is now FOUR! I can't even begin to share how much we are in love with this smart, beautiful, kind, caring, sassy and incredibly magical little girl. Every day brings laughter and so much excitement. She is such a loving daughter and precious big sister.

Charlotte had a month-long birthday celebration packed with fun. We celebrated as a little family, she celebrated at school and ballet class, then with her closest friends, then at two separate parties within our extended family. In my next post I will share pictures from her Garden Tea Party birthday celebration. (Mommy had way too much fun planning that party for Charlotte and her friends!)

Here is a shot of Charlotte on her 4th birthday - March 8, 2011

Four year stats: 40.5" tall and 36.5 lbs. 50th percentile for both. She grew three inches in one year!

Below you will find many pictures from her "birthday month". This girl sure was celebrated - over and over! In fact she thought that with each party she was turning a year older. She would have been 8 by the time we got through all of them!! I wanted to make this year extra special for her since she had a big year (graciously) welcoming her baby brother into her world.

Enjoy the photos...I love capturing these precious milestones.

Our little guy at eight months (pre-haircut). He is such a smart cookie and pretty darn cute, too. He enjoys lots of love from big sister, Charlotte. Nine month update coming soon!

How big is Grant?

Tired and done with the camera (can you imagine?)

Father Daughter Ball 2011

Last month Chris and Charlotte attended their fourth annual Father Daughter Ball together (hosted by our church). They had a wonderful time! Such a sweet tradition they get to share every year and I am thankful I get to go with my Dad so I can watch them from afar.
