A Colorful Life

Being a mom isn't always easy, but somehow each day is sprinkled with vibrance. The colorful world I share with Charlotte is one of the great pleasures of motherhood.

Lovely Lilacs

We have four massive lilac bushes that line our garage (planted by the previous owners, lucky us!) that are stunningly fragrant and late-blooming. They don't last long, but they signal the vibrant blooming season that has begun in our yard. Towering just over ten feet tall and gracing a few vases in our home, they really are amazing! I had to grab a few pictures of Charlotte enjoying their beauty. It was a full sun afternoon - tough for picture taking - but I think I was able to capture just how lovely they truly are. The girl in the peach floral dress is pretty darling, too.

Florida

After sorting through close to 2500 pictures between my camera and Kim's, here are my absolute favorites from our FL trip in April. I cannot even begin to sum up our visit with any adequate words therefore I shall allow the pictures to do the talking. But, I must simply say that spending time at my grandparents' - at the very home and pool that I grew up visiting over spring breaks past - was an absolute treat. And the gift of making new memories with our little girl amidst family was priceless. Thanks to Grampa and Granne for hosting our wild crew - we love you!

A Mother's Love

Mother's Day was absolutely relaxing this year. A great day spent with family, and of course, the best gift of all - my precious daughter who made me a mommy!

Pictured with the two moms I admire most...

Celebrating the joy of being her mother...it truly is a gift!

And of course, without Chris, I wouldn't have that privilege! ;)

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms in my life! You are each a treasure.

Old Friends

At the end of March I had the chance to go out with my high school girlfriends. We have decided to get together every year to catch up, this is year number two. Last year was such a blast so we wanted to continue the tradition of meeting every March. Sadly Kristen couldn't join us this time since she is performing in a show in NYC. I just love these girls! It is nice to know that time changes little about our friendships. Left to right: Jo, Kyla, Jamie and me.

Rydoo is TWO!

On March 21st Ryder joined the 2 year-old club, nearly two weeks to the day after Charlotte's 2nd birthday. These two are growing up like twins! So much fun. And these great pics were stranded on a faulty camera card, hence the lateness in posting. Ryder definitely had a great birthday celebration, choo choo train style!

Kim nailed it with fabulous Thomas decor!

Since Ryder took his shirt off for cake, they all decided to...

We love you, Doonals!

Love You So Mulch

We got together with friends Courtney and Benjamin last Friday at the Leesburg Outlets. What a great day of shopping, gabbing and playing in the sunshine. Our friendship with the L's is effortless. Love that. Oh, and Benna and CoCo love each other, too. And playing in the Panera Bread landscaping. And mulch. They were precious and hated parting ways when the playdate ended. Thanks guys for such a fun break from the ordinary!

Licking their wounds after a fun mulch fight!

They obviously weren't too mad at each other...

Seriously? Precious!

And this is especially for you, Court - we saw this on the way home and I near wrecked my car snapping this shot - hahahaha!
