Catching Up

I finally have a moment to update this blog! Here are a few pictures taken right before Grant's birth. Hard to believe he is 3 weeks already...time sure moves fast!

And these pictures were taken the night we went to the hospital to prepare to welcome Grant! We had dinner at Panera, which is the same place we dined right before welcoming Charlotte. Maybe this is why it is her favorite place to eat?




We then dropped Charlotte off to my parents' house for a sleepover. I made sure to get extra kisses from my girl before we were off to the hospital. Can you tell I was extremely nervous in these pictures? I was trying to hide it for Charlotte but I was a wreck.




Next thing we knew, Grant was here, safe and sound. More baby posts to come, stay tuned!

Grant Oliver Merson

Our sweet baby boy is HERE! Born June 9, 2010 at 1:05pm weighing 8 pounds 13 ounces and 22.5 inches long! Will post more details soon, including loads of pictures, but for now here are my two angels...Grant is a precious addition to our family and he melts our hearts each moment!

And then there were FOUR!

Well, tonight we head to the hospital to begin the process of meeting our sweet baby boy. I can hardly wait. I am excited, anxious, joyful and nervous, all at once! Will post more when we are home! Come on, Baby Grant - we can't wait to meet you!!

1st Ballet Recital

Charlotte has been enjoying ballet lessons at a great studio each week since last fall...she has grown into quite the little ballerina. We anticipated recital season with excitement (and I was honestly just hoping baby boy wouldn't arrive until after recital)! Dress rehearsal the day before went pretty well, however, the bright lights (and lack of a/c) during the real deal seemed to throw her off. And this was a huge stage in a high school auditorium packed full of people. She hung in there and showed great stage presence even though I could tell she was really nervous. I'm just so thankful she didn't cry and run off the stage!

When I later asked her why she didn't do all of the routine she was frank that she didn't like the bright lights. Of course Chris and I joked that she couldn't possibly be my child then! ;)

I will attempt to get some video uploaded from rehearsal, but in the meantime here are some pictures of my tiny dancer. Next year's class will be a combo of ballet/tap lessons, so that should be a blast! However, Charlotte has done some private living room performances for us lately that look more like modern dance, so we shall see which style she ends up identifying with the most. It has been so fun to watch her blossom over the past year and to meet such great little friends in class. We adore the studio and she LOVES her instructor Miss Kim. Charlotte is already looking forward to classes again after summer. Maybe next year she will have less stage fright during recital...but if not, she will still steal all of our hearts! Way to go, baby!
