Emmerson Ann
My very first niece was born late last night. She is absolutely perfect! I promise to post pictures and stats when I have Melissa's permission. What a doll she is. Charlotte got to meet Emme, her first girl cousin, today...such a special time. Congrats, Greg & Melissa! We love you!

Some choose princesses
And some choose...

We spent Wednesday morning with Pop and Caden at the mall for the free kid's movie festival they do during the summer. We saw Clifford's Big Adventure. Afterward we hit Chic-Fil-A and a guy was doing balloons for the kids. Caden got a dinosaur and my child, of course, wanted Elmo. Most little girls left with fairy wands or flowers, but my darling dear HAD to have an Elmo once she saw one being made for a child ahead of us in line. Dad and I got a good laugh out of it for sure!

Our Child, The Fish
At the end of June we set up a pool for Charlotte on our deck. It has offered hours of fun and consequently much longer afternoon naps! We are convinced our daughter has gills. Get her anywhere near water and she won't want to leave!

Below you will see Charlotte helping Daddy get the pool ready as well as some fun times of laughter together. This child is sheer joy!
And one last shot, because, well, it melts my heart!!

Georgetown Shoot
I was excited to tag along with Kim on a shoot Saturday night in DC with some other photogs. This session served as practice/tip sharing specifically in low light situations. I always love to learn and Kim graciously let me shoot with her Fuji S5. And if any of you didn't know, Kim has really been perfecting her lighting skills and she is a brilliant teacher. Read more about the evening on her blog both here and here.
Kim was sweet to include some of my shots and she even tagged them in pink for me - adorable! It was a fun night and while I left with about 25 bug bites and a sweat drenched tank top, I gained some new pals and got to see Kim in her element which always makes me happy.

16 Months
Sassy. Whimsical. Passionate. Giggly. Strong. Lovable. Smart. Independent. Chatty. Beautiful. Musical. Handful. Wiggly. Daddy's girl. Mama's soul. Just a few of the words we think capture Charlotte's spirit! 16 months old today.

Happy 4th!
Despite the rainy weather we celebrated America's birthday with a bang. We enjoyed lunch with my family and then dinner and fireworks with Chris' family. Our tiny firecracker was amazed by the awesome fireworks display plus she was in good spirits all day. Everytime the lights crackled and popped she would exclaim "wow!"

And since I am nostalgic, here we are last year at the beach:
